A Musical Tribute ~ For The Children

I originally wrote this piece in 2004 or 2005.  It came to me after an image of a mother holding her dead child came to me ~ a result of war (the war in Iraq was raging).  I tried to get some publicity for it to show the side of war that MSM and others were refusing to see ~ death of the innocent.

As was and is with my music, it has just sat in isolation, until breakthrough comes or a chance to play comes my way.  I had forgotten about this song until tonight.  As I was enjoying some time alone playing freely, I suddenly began to just play this song.  It caught me off guard for even though I was in free flow, playing whatever came through me, whether a cover or one of my own, I had not given this song any tending to in years.  I was also surprised at how quickly it came back to me ~ as in instantly.  Also unusual.

As I played it, it took on new meaning, new energy.  Expansive.  I thought of the beautiful precious children who have been trafficked, raped, used for the sickest of “purposes” – if you can even use that word.  Given I recently spoke about this subject and how I could just not spend much energy going down that rabbit hole, certainly not able to stay “down there” for long, I thought the least I could do was what, honor? them with this song.

I song to say we feel your pain.  We see it.  As best we can.

We mourn.  We rage.

A song of solidarity.  A song to say “I see you”.  A song to say “you are not forgotten.  You never have been.  You never will be.”  A song to say YOU MATTER.

And a song to say we the human species will never allow this horror plagued upon our children to infiltrate our human experience again.

Here it is below ~ live, unedited.  “For The Children”.  Feel free to share.

Trump signs ‘right to try’ drug bill

BY JESSIE HELLMANN –

President Trump signed a bill Wednesday allowing terminally ill patients access to experimental medical treatments not yet approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Dubbed “right to try,” the law’s passage was a major priority of Trump and Vice President Pence, as well as congressional Republicans.

Trump thanked lawmakers sitting in the audience who sponsored the bill, including Sen. Joe Donnelly, a vulnerable Democrat up for reelection in Indiana.

Despite calling Donnelly a “really incredible swamp person” earlier this month, Trump thanked the senator for his work on the bill.

Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), another vulnerable Democrat up for reelection, was the only other Democratic co-sponsor on the bill, but did not attend the ceremony because he is in West Virginia this week, his office said.

Congress is on recess this week for Memorial Day.

Unprecedented whale strandings reaches 11 in total on Taranaki beach (New Zealand)

Three more sperm whales have washed ashore on a South Taranaki beach, bringing the total to 11 since eight dead whales were discovered three days ago.

The bloated, black 12-14m long carcasses of the mammals are spread 5km along Kaupokonui Beach, north of Manaia.

DOC biodiversity supervisor Jared Coombes said the latest strandings, several hundred metres to the right of the river mouth, happened on Saturday.

It appeared the three mammals may have been dead before they washed ashore, but this would be confirmed when a biopsy was completed, Coombes said.

Grooming Alert: Do Not Take Your Kids to the Show Dogs Movie!!!

editor’s note:  “normalizing” sexual assault (pedophilia) against our children.  way to go hollyfreakland.  please share this one far and wide.  maybe some public “shaming” of the actors too…starting with ludicris and will arnett…

******

The Show Dogs movie contains a dark theme that can send kids a very very harmful message about who is allowed to touch their private parts and when.

I’m usually very up on the kids movies that are coming out because I love to review movies in this online space for parents, but the past few weeks have been mind-bendingly busy for my family, and I completely missed that a new kids movie called Show Dogs came out this weekend. The premise looks cute, so I’m glad I missed it: at any other time I probably would have seen an online trailer and just taken my seven-year-old with me to see the Show Dogs Movie when I watched it for my review.

Turns out, it appears the Show Dogs movie has some problems.

After what I’ve learned about it from another parent review, I am SO GLAD my son did not see this movie. Let me explain. Terina Maldonado, parent reviewer for the Macaroni Kid website DID take her kids to see an advanced screening of the movie as part of her job with Macaroni Kid…but she came away with some seriously BAD feelings about the movie. I’ll let Maldonado explain in her own words. …

It all started out fine, she says:

“The premise is great for a kids movie.  Max is a talking police dog (voiced by Ludacris) who is paired up with a human partner, Frank (Will Arnett) to infiltrate a prestigious dog show and rescue a kidnapped baby panda.  Being a tough dog from New York, Max has no business competing in a dog show but uses his street smarts to outperform the competition to get closer to the inner circle of kidnappers.  Along the way, Max learns lessons about trust and the need to accept help from others.  The usual hilarity ensues with dog farts, bites on the rear-end, and slap-stick bonks to the head which elicit giggles from the audience. “

It’s when Max the police dog learns what he has to do to truly go undercover and be accepted as a legitimate show dog that the trouble with this movie starts. WHAT does Max (and apparently all the show dogs) have to submit to?

Having his private parts touched and inspected. Yep. Maldonado continues:

“What could have been solely a fun movie for kids that would get my highest recommendation is damaged by a dark and disturbing message hidden, not so subtly between the fluffy dogs and glamorous parties of the show dog lifestyle.  As part of any dog show, contestants are judged on their abilities and physical attributes.  One part, in particular, is the inspection of the dog’s private parts.”

Max, of course, is  NOT cool with this, and when his partner Frank and a former champion show dog try to get him to accept this process, a certain dark and very dangerous theme for kids emerges. Maldonado explains:

“Since the inspection of the private parts will happen in the finals, Frank touches Max’s private parts to get him use to it.  Of course, Max doesn’t like it and snaps at Frank for him to stop.  Max is then told by the former champion, who has been through the process before, that he needs to go to his “zen place” while it happens so he can get through it.  More attempts are made by Frank to touch Max’s private parts, but Max is still having trouble letting it happen and keeps snapping at him.”

Every bishop in Chile just resigned over the child sex abuse scandal

The move comes days after Pope Francis met with bishops to discuss the crisis.

Thirty-four Chilean bishops have resigned together over the Catholic child sex abuse scandals.

The unprecedented move — which saw the entire Chilean church leadership offer to step down — came shortly after a meeting with Pope Francis over the scale of sexual abuse and its cover-up in Chile. It is to date the most significant formal acceptance of responsibility for abuse by members of the church hierarchy anywhere in the world.

While child sex abuse scandals have dogged the Catholic Church worldwide, the scandal in Chile centers on the figure of Rev. Fernando Karadima. In 2011, a Vatican investigation found Karadima guilty of a series of child sexual abuse that took place throughout the 1970s and ’80s. (The case was never prosecuted under criminal law, and Karadima, now 87, lives in a nursing home in Chile.) A number of critics have accused Karadima’s protégé, Bishop Juan Barros, of being complicit in the abuse by covering for Karadima and allowing his behavior to go unpunished.

The mass resignation appears to be an acknowledgment that the Chilean church — which has consistently defended Barros and maintained his innocence — is accepting responsibility for wrongdoing.
